Davis: in the studio with the Fuji GA645

by Todd on November 9, 2012

It’s been too long since I’ve posted, and I’m happy to say I got a chance to shoot a couple of rolls yesterday. The other roll was with my new Contax 90/2.8 G-lens, and hopefully I’ll have time to post some of those soon. Davis does some modeling professionally, so in addition to having a bit of spare time for film, I had a great subject as well! These were shot with Kodak Portra 800. I was disappointed to see I had some camera shake in many of the files. I was shooting with the Nikon D3 intermittently, and I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention to shutter speed when I switched to the film cameras. The light was pretty low, and the lens only opens to f/4, so I’d guess I was getting 1/15th to 1/30th on these. Not as bad as it sounds when there’s no mirror slap. Still, very few of the files hold up well to inspection at 100% magnification of a 1600 ppi scan. They look pretty good at 700 x 933, though, and you can see that size by clicking on the shots.
